I grew up with Sonic and always loved it so I was worried about watching this as my expectations were really really low. However they had some good ideas, a few good jokes and sonic looks good and is likeable. I thought they incorporated the story well enough into our modern world. So overall I enjoyed it for what it is but would have liked a less lazy plot. read more

Rewatching this week, it's even more obvious that this is laying the groundwork for a sequel. Before I put this on again, literally about half of my memory of this film was the end credit stuff, and the other half was Sonic flossing and the piano version of the Green Hill Zone music, but it's a fine family action film.
