i haven't seen this in ages. listening to how did this get made? inspired me to watch it again. it's still amazingly stupid and awesome. i straight up love this film. it's complete bollocks and full of things that make 0 sense but that's what i love about it. hearing the gang from how did this get made? rip the piss out of it only made me love it more. it's surely not coincidence that the two best films of rob schneider's career have been stallone vehicles.... read more

this film has practically everything. the fact that it's so unappreciated is criminal. it's a stallone movie, with great action and superb acting. it's got comedy, smart political subtext, and beautiful scifi elements. i honestly could not ask for more out of a film. this is one of the best films ever made, and surely one of stallone's best. read more

this movie is just having a blast and is just going all out to entertain. there is nothing even remotely serious and fully embraces that it is super dumb. it feels more like a van damme movie than a stallone flick, but stallone makes it work well enough mostly by getting out of the way and letting snipes and bullock carry it. russell crowe's character in virtuosity is a complete rip off of snipes here, but i love them both. we need to have more villains that are just comically evil rather than having actual motivations, because these are a blast. it would get old if it was every villain, but... read more

snipes steals the show as simon phoenix, easily one of the best baddies of the 90's. his over-the-top performance fits right in here, in a movie that also features profanity fines, vr sex, stallone knitting, high class taco bell, a rat burger, and dennis leary living in a sewer. the cast is fantastic, and stallone is in top form. demolition man is the definition of popcorn entertainment, and they genuinely don't make them like this anymore. demolition man is a relic from an era when r rated tentpole blockbusters were just a casual thing. what's definitely not casual is the fetishistic lens... read more
