it is extremely cliched and formulaic, but still is entirely watchable. every single plot beat that shows up in the genre is here in this movie. it is incredibly dumb with perpetual eyeroll inducing plot contrivances, but that is a feature instead of a bug in a way that only these turn of the century action movies can be. it is also a time capsule to the late 90s with the outfits that giovanni ribisi and scott caan have on. the car chases are fairly exciting if often pretty dumb. honestly this was kind of the blueprint that the original the fast & the furious was emulating, even down to the... read more
