The Color Purple

The camera work and phenomenal acting really sold the stories. I honestly don't believe the PG13 rating ruined the story, but still keep in mind I haven't read the book which is much more raw I hear. I was surprised to see that not only Whoopi Goldberg but Oprah Winfrey was in this movie. so many topics we're shoved into the film but some didn't really have the time (even though the movie was 2 hours long) to showcase the effects. The Color Purple deixa claro o talento de Spielberg na construção emocional de suas obras. Armado de uma impressionante sutileza – muitos outros diretores iriam simplesmente apelar pelo sofrimento de sua protagonista –, Spielberg encontra o tom ideal para apresentar essa história, sem romantizar, mas encontrando espaços para inserir uma dose de humor que é bem vinda aqui.
