i'm not a fan of leo, but he carried this part well. a lot of ideas went into this multilayered romance.*spoiler alert!*:what fascinated me was how the laws of physics (inertial reference frame) were carried over to the immediate next level (but not subsequent ones). the time dilation bit is fascinating too -- i wonder how many levels can they go before the brain feels overclocked. and i've gotta figure out how watanabe (my fave character in this movie) aged 50 years by the time leo came (back) for him.nonetheless, dream-level-hopping aside, this was an enjoyable movie somewhat like a dark... read more

it's pretty simple and kinda entertaining after the presentation of the plot during the first hour but the way nolan tries to be smarter than you everytime he can (the ending) is what kills some of the fun for me still entertaining tho read more

this just might be my favorite summer blockbuster ever made. christopher nolan presents cool ideas with great direction in the neo-noir/sci-fi genres, and its a visual treat. all of the joseph gordon-levitt action scenes are so well directed; i lose my shit everytime i see the first hotel hallway fight scene. my only gripes with the film are that its overly talky, some of the cgi looks pretty bad, and the zimmer score is zimmer sleeping at the wheel (not the time and dreams collapsing themes, those are great). recommended. i watched this on 4k blu-ray and its a recommended buy. read more

dominic cobb is a thief but instead of stealing stuff from people's houses or banks, he steals valuable information from people's subconscious, with the help of their dreams. he has got kicked out of the us because what he was doing was illegal. some business man offers him a job to plant an idea in someone's mind instead of stealing one. cobb is hesitant about the job until the businessman tells him that he can go back to us and see his children if he does the job. he somehow finishes the job and meet with his children but we dont know if its real or a dream. for me, it was real. read more

inception has got to be the biggest, most monumental epic piece of film i've ever seen. it gets so much better with every rewatch even after you've figured out all the little details and what not. the direction and cinematography of this movie work together so well and not to mention the brillaint ginormous score by hans zimmer that just elevates the scale of this film. inception will always, and easily be in my top 10 movies of all time. read more

Just a great movie. Honestly. Incredible acting, amazing action, complex story and just a thrilling adventure. I'm not sure what to say about this movie, just because it was so well crafted and perfect, it feels like I'm just pointing out the obvious. My only nitpick really, is I wish Cobb was a bit more likeable? But apart from that, this was a great movie and Tom Hardy can do anything he wants to me. read more

It's been a very long time since I've rewatched Inception and I've owned the 4K Blu-ray for a few years now without touching it, so it was about time. What really stood out to me this time, aside from Han Zimmer's overbearing score (it's good, just please change it up a bit Han), was how complex of a story Inception is while still remaining completely coherent. This movie's biggest selling point is it's visuals and it's big dramatic soundtrack, but I'm still not crazy about the herky jerky narrative. I'm glad I returned to this with an open mind because I think I did enjoy it ever so slightly more than I did when I first watched it way back in the day. Although it didn't change my opinion all too much; Eames (Tom Hardy) and Arthur's (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) chemistry in this movie still remains by far my favourite thing about it. Slightly unhappy marriage of trying big ideas through genre tropes, rather than letting the big ideas grow organically out of the genre. Plot holes.
