what a film. i honestly didnt think war for the planet of the apes was going to be able to pull off exactly what it did: close an amazing trilogy of the prequel planet of the apes films and make us care about the humans once again. so, i should probably come out with the disclaimer now: this is not your typical war film. its not a war in the literal sense, its a war of ideology. now, that ive gotten that out the way, lets dive deeper into what that means. when i say its a war of ideology, i mean that its not a physical war. its one tribe just trying to hold on to their humanity and... read

far and away the best movie i have seen of 2017 so far (and i have seen dunkirk). this movie is maybe the best closing to a trilogy i have ever seen. i loved it with all my heart and i think it was pretty much perfect. the acting was amazing, the nods and set up to the 'original' apes films were orgasmic, bad ape was perfect and highly needed to inject humour into this otherwise dire and depressing dark road of a movie. harrelson was a great and sympathetic baddie. andy serkis killed it like nobody's business. the cinematography was as good as you can get, the music was utterly engrossing and... read

wow. humans, humans vs. apes, and apes. from weak to awesome. those movies get better each iteration and when you think you've seen every last ounce of andy serkis' amazing skill he brings it to another level. read

É incrível como uma franquia afundada pelo remake de tim burton pôde se reerguer uma década depois com filmes crescentemente melhores, culminando em uma das melhores conclusões de trilogias que já assisti. e onde está a indicação ao oscar de andy serkis? read

it's been a while since i saw the first film in the trilogy so i can't say for sure if this is the best of the three but it's miles ahead of dawn. engaging throughout (even if it's just an overly-serious ape version mishmash of every war, slavery and holocaust movie you've ever seen) - it works! also features some of the best cgi i've ever seen. read

the best things about this movie are often its technical accomplishments. it can make you forget that there's cgi wizardry on the screen serving to showcase the incredibly performances of andy serkis and co. the emotional core of the movie is accomplished and genuinely moving. the set pieces are endlessly entertaining, but again, it's the drama and heartfelt substance that's the real draw here. unfortunately, the actual events of the plot feel all too borrowed and even a little cliche. it's very much an amalgam of wwii and vietnam war movies, just modified to fit the genre and concepts of an... read

The first two films in this series had their own serious problems, but this one really just does everything wrong possible. There's just so much that makes no sense. In the last film the apes captured the entire human settlement in San Francisco with its huge armory of guns. There were 10x more guns than apes. So where did all the guns go? Why doesn't every ape have 2 guns? And where did they get hundreds of horses in San Francisco? It's not exactly big horse country. And seriously, gorillas on horses? Adult gorillas weigh 300-450 lbs. Horses can break their backs carrying read more Was this review helpful to you?

liii. war of the planet of the apes - a film that understands "primal "and applies it with delicate strokes. it tugs at all those instinctive emotions of love & protection of family, pain of loss, anger, guilt & responsibility. it's a magnificent feat for the vfx when one just accepts that this world they've created, simply is. the story at the core of is not overly complex, but it keeps you engaged and deeply invested in the fate of the apes. it's ironic and disturbing that as humans, we are able to root for them, even though we can understand the human logic. i'd give a lot the credit for... read

As a new strain of the simian flu frustrates the human race's desperate attempt to seize back its role as Earth's ruling species, Caesar is forced to lead his apes through a war he never wanted to wage. 51 years and 8 films after Franklin Schaffner's landmark adaptation of Pierre Boulle's novel, the Planet of the Apes saga comes full circle again by completing its 3-features reinvention of episode 4, "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes" (1972). As the plot finds its way into known territory, and the premise loses its metaphorical drive, Caesar's character completes its personal destiny in an... read

Man, I'm kind of at a loss for words. This continuation of Dawn makes a lot of sense thematically and for closure of the story thus far.
I think the thing that has stuck out to me this entire trilogy is how thoughtful and respectful of its audience and its themes are. I love the continued picking at what it means to be a person, ape or human.
Caesar experiences tremendous loss over the past 2 years and has nightmares that he is going down the same path Koba is. After 2 years of war, and the Colonel coming into their base and killing his wife and son, Caesars rage takes over while he wants... read

This is supposed to be the final film of this franchise but only time will tell. I did actually like this a little better than some of the others. There wasn't much in the way of human acting roles and besides Woody Harrelson and a girl befriended by the apes all the rest were CGI apes. The best for me was the action which didn't really let up for the whole movie. So if it is really the end then its gone out on a good one. read

CBFC: U/A 2017 ‧ Action/Sci-fi ‧ 2h 20m
Caesar is One of the best movie character of all time♨️
What a character arc 💥👌
War for the Planet of the Apes is excellent. beautifully shot and very well acted, this movie is a masterpiece.
Everything in this movie is great. Andy Serkis as Caesar does a fantastic job in this movie like he did in all of the last ones❣️
This movie does a great job making you feel for the characters. In the previous film it focused for the most part on the apes but it cut back to the humans sometimes to. But in this one its all... read
