2023's Missing is a horror-thriller spiritual sequel to Searching and to the best of my knowledge has no connection to that movie. I actually think I would give this flick a 3.5 if the conclusion was a little bit better because it felt quite weak, what with the journey we had been on did not make too much sense for it just to be the Dad and the Stepdad. An 88% on Rotten Tomatoes is far too high as well. Storm Reid carried this movie on her shoulders and absolutely ruled, but my real favorite here was the charismatic Javier played by Joaquim de Almeida from Desperados. He provided a nice read more

Missing is directed by Nicholas D. Johnson & Will Merrick and the movie is a step down from Searching. I didnt feel as engaged to the mystery compared to Searching, but it wasnt bad. It felt like the stakes were a little higher in the first movie, which causes me to feel less engaged with this new movie. Storm Reid was good here, but I dont see her getting any bigger roles after this.  The twist in the film didnt hit as hard as the last movie, I think that was because it didnt feel shocking after watching a movie like this previously, in this case this was Searching.
