Synopsis

UA Academy's Class 1A has been the focus of a substantial amount of public attention due to the multiple villain attacks they've faced over the past school year. This attention has left Class 1A's rivals, Class 1B feeling quite bitter. Desiring to prove their skills, they look forward to the opportunity that has been given to them.; a set of mock battles between the students of each class. The classes are split into squads of four, each of which is tasked with capturing the other group members. The winner is the group who first secures all of the opposing team. While this sounds simple, a curveball is thrown into the mix with the inclusion of General Course Student Hitoshi Shinsou, who wishes to transfer into the Hero Course. Despite using his training with Class 1A's homeroom teacher to prove he's capable of being a real hero, he's still far behind the others due to his lack of experience. However, Shinsou is determined to overcome this challenge. Thus begins the fiery competition between Class 1A and 1B as each tries to prove they're superior to the other.

Animation: 7

Regular

Basic animation style that's expected since the beginning. Good upkeeping.

Sound: 7

Basic

Same OST and clear audio.

Character: 7

Familiar

Characters we are common with are used and still remain favorites. Getting to see Class 1B more often and utilized makes them feel more acquainted with the audience and was a nice touch. It was great getting to see some new characters and see Shinsou get more screen time as well since he feels like a subtle parallel to Midoriya's character very much.

Enjoyment: 8

Great Watch

It felt like a nice call back to the first season (mostly with the focus of Midoriya's training and the events around his power), but it wasn't half bad. I feel like this season really allowed for me to understand Midoriya's journey more without overloading the information into a few episodes and the developmental turning points of each of the characters was a nice touch that I feel really connected me to this season in particular instead of leaving them stagnant throughout. There was enough focus on making the characters really "come to life" by showing their evolutions into different people and of course still retaining the many characters we know and love! There wasn't really anything that I disliked about it so far, so a rather short review for this one, but pretty much the feelings are the same and I'd have to say that as the seasons progress the show just gets better, and the movies are always a nice watch. I especially like the nice touch of focusing on the villains and giving us more plot on their backstories in tandem with the protagonists' stories developing and expanding also.

[MHA: Laugh! As If You Are In Hell] ~~ Rating: 8 stars

Synopsis: Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki participate in an internship under the No.1 hero, Endeavor's agency. One of their tasks these days is to find a villain ("Smiley") who draws doodles in the city; however, since the urgency is so low, they let other pro - heroes solve this case. One day, Smiley draws a doodle on Endeavor's house! Being furious, Endeavor himself and the 1A trio go out to get the villain. Smiley's quirk turns out to be something ridiculous but powerful... it is to make anyone who looks into his eyes laugh hysterically! Can the team capture the villain and stop laughing?

Review: From the season 5 OVA I'd say this is one of my favorites just because I did feel pretty sentimental towards the end of it. It was cute seeing Deku be able to relate to someone else's struggle although they served as a villain figure (you could also call it a bias I suppose since I did relate to some of the villain's feelings and have a big sympathetic heart). If you enjoy sweet OVAs then this should be bound to become a favorite of yours as well!
