Psychological Horror and thinly veiled festish stuff

It's a story about continuing to adventure and survive even when in a horrific environment. If it had made some direct links to real life parallels it would have been a top tier story.

Severely gross but technically great

Almost every scene has some Akira style body horror involved there's barely a straight line in the entire thing

Beautiful

A beautiful score and light music even during fighting scenes the sound track is one of the main reasons I bothered to push through

They're children and literal monsters

Almost every single character in this is given some obscene porn like suicide fetish along with a horrific libertarian worldview literally selling parts of themselves and expressing in all its gross inevitability the effect of pure free markets with a literal magical "balance" to get around the obvious corruption that would happen if people could sell each others organs freely.

It's just thinly veiled gore and pedophila fetish porn

The writer of this is literally a convicted pedophile it gets worse and worse as the episodes progress and I only watched through because of my unfortunate OCD about completeness.

Download the OST because it's pretty but otherwise avoid this it's just sexualisation of children and gore. There's a ridiculous tone put across the whole story like it's some positive that most of the characters either die or become sludge or are eaten.

I'm not against shock value because horror can be a device to increase the stakes and add weight to the drama of the story that's why I like post-apocalyptic stories. This was not that. Again it's clearly a thinly veiled gore/pedophilia story with focus on children pissing themselves and even I'd forgotten until now there are animal torture scenes too.

And beyond all that horrifically gross elements it's even worse in some ways becuase the characters normalise it and in spite of the again thinly thinly veiled opposition characters have to the gross shit a few scenes after they're all "Oh wow what a beutiful freindship" it's like if 4chan/Kwifarms became an anime.

Oh and even beyond that I forgot the food aspect! Just intentionally gross stuff described like it isn't, oh which leads to the diarrhea talk. Oh which reminds me of the "medical" elements which focused on that including one character literally seeing someone has had diarrhea and instantly coating their hand in it!

Then of course there's the "leader" of the origin story group who just casually accepts everything happening like some psychotic stoner and when everyone is dying finds an infinite canibalistic newborn baby meal from a forced birth fetish child... The more I type out this review the more I realise it's so unbelievably sick and yet somehow being well drawn and having a pretty soundtrack covers a lot of it up.
